CELLIJ (Centro de Estudos em Leitura e Literatura Infantil e Juvenil “Maria Betty Coelho Silva”) has been in charge of the International Conference on Children's Literature since 1999. This event aims to join teachers, professors, booksellers, writers and researchers from all over the world in order to discuss reading instruction, quality of children’s books, and the importance of children’s literature. The 2017 edition of the Congress has as subject “the (trans)formation” of readers: crossing and treat, this theme focuses on reading strategies of the literary text. CROSSINGS as paths, tracks, trails, and many opportunities to lead children and adolescents to meet the book. The TREAT, in turn, refer to the nature of literature as art.
