Study Center on Reading, Children’s Literature “Maria Betty Coelho Silva” belongs to Faculty of Science and Technology – UNESP, Presidente Prudente – and was created in 1994, in the endeavor to educate readers through literary texts and establish dialogue not only with teachers, students, governmental departments in Education area but also with undergraduate and post-graduate students in Education and their professors. Today, CELLIJ consolidates kindergarteners and the last graders of Elementary School into its priority public, including children and young adults who attend nursery schools and community associations. Public attending CELLIJ is usually children from 0 to 12 and young adults from 13 to 15 years old. With lots of sponsored projects of national and international scope, CELLIJ worries specifically about public policies on reading, searching and comparing levels of development concerning Elementary School graders and kindergarteners, as well as promoting actions that can decrease learning disability of such students. In 2016, CELLIJ received 105 teachers, 85 teachers acting as school librarians and approximately 5,000 children, especially from early Elementary School.
